Miami Dolphins players and Dolphins coaches are set to fly to Florida to celebrate the birth of a new dolphin breed and the Dolphins season opener against the New York Giants.
Mammals owner Stephen Ross announced Monday the team is bringing Dolphins players Matt Moore and Ryan Tannehill and Dolphins Head Coach Adam Gase and Dolphins players Michael Thomas and Kyle Van Noy to the South Florida area.
The Dolphins are bringing a Dolphin-themed team jersey, a replica of the team’s current logo and a replica Dolphins tail.
Players from the Dolphins will fly to the Bahamas on Monday, and the players will fly back on Tuesday.
The Dolphins’ first game will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Sun Life Stadium against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Miami Dolphins players Ryan Tanner and Michael Thomas have been named captains for the Dolphins’ game against the Miami Dolphins.
The game will air on NBC.
Miles Austin will take over as the team captain and the Miami-based sports broadcaster will be the team mascot.
The team will wear Dolphins colors during the game.
The new breed of dolphins is expected to help protect the Dolphins, and Dolphins owner Ross has long been a vocal proponent of dolphin protection.
